Gibsons Frozen Foods operates from our cold store in Airfield Way, Christchurch giving our fleet of freezer vans easy access to Dorset and the southern parts of Hampshire and Wiltshire.
Gibsons Frozen Foods was originally founded as Gibsons Foods by Mr Alf Gibson way back in 1958. The company was acquired by Peter Hunt in 1972 and renamed Gibsons Frozen Foods, accompanied by the installation of a walk-in cold store. At that time, a major part of the business was the supply of Irish sausage to independent retailers, but with a growing market for frozen foods a wider and wider range of frozen products was stocked. Eventually chilled and ambient goods were discontinued and the business focussed solely on frozen foods.
Today Gibsons Frozen Foods is run by Peter’s sons David, who joined the Company in 1980, and Andrew who joined in 1985. The owners, drivers, coldroom, admin and sales staff continue to adopt a hands-on approach to the business and this focus has resulted in a turnover exceeding £2 million a year.
Gibsons serves customers within a 40 mile radius of our depot and we pride ourselves on being a flexible and focussed independent supplier striving to ensure excellent customer service in distributing quality goods at competitive prices. But don’t just take our word for it…
